ITINERARY: 7 Days / 6 Nights
DAY 1: DEPARTURE DAY - Thursday
Travel to DFW Airport via deluxe motor coach. Depart for San Francisco. After check-in at the historic Sir Francis Drake
Hotel, we'll spend an "Evening at the Museum" at the spectacular Asian Art Museum, where we will have dinner at
Cafe Asia, take an architectural tour of the Museum's circa 1917 Beaux Art building, and enjoy curator-guided tours
and cultural performances. (S,D)
DAY 2: Friday
The morning will be spent on a motorcoach sightseeing tour of some of San Francisco's famous locales, such as
Lombard Street, Coit Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Embarcadero, and Nob Hill, before departing for a Day Trip to
Napa Valley, where we will meet our expert "winery guide". First, we will have touring, tasting and lunch at a Napa
Valley winery overlooking the vineyards approaching harvest time, followed by motorcoach sightseeing of Napa Valley,
then touring and tasting at Kuleto Winery, built to resemble a Tuscan Village and sitting atop a hill overlooking the
Lake Hennessey and the Valley. The day will conclude with dinner at Ristaurante Allegria, followed by time to stroll
around Downtown Napa and before returning to San Francisco. (B,L,D)
DAY 3: Saturday
We're really in for a treat today!! A Chinatown celebrity chef and book author will be our personal guide on a
specially-created tour just for our group into the history and cuisine of San Francisco's Chinatown. We'll go along
the backstreets to places not generally open to the public, experience a Chinese tea ceremony, visit a Chinese
herbalist, shop in unique stores, and sample a variety of wonderful foods along the way. Following our Chinatown
experience, we'll take a guided tour of the Haas-Lilienthal House, a pre-1906 earthquake home depicting the life of an
upper middle class family in Victorian San Francisco. We'll return to the Hotel late afternoon, so that you can have
dinner on your own at the restaurant of your choice, and have the evening free to relax or to take in one of San
Francisco's many cultural arts performances. (B,L)
Day 4: Sunday
Free time until early afternoon. This afternoon, you will have a choice of either 1) taking the guided "Vertigo" tour of
San Francisco -- visiting various locations in San Francisco filmed by Alfred Hitchcock in his 1950's movie classic with
James Stewart and Kim Novak; or 2) spending the afternoon exploring nearby Union Square or other sights in San
Francisco on your own. Dinner this evening will be at the famed Cliff House overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset,
with time to marvel at the Camera Obscura, a historical landmark reproduction of a Leonardo DaVinci invention which
captures images spanning 360-degrees. (B,D)
Day 5: Monday
Day trip to Monterey, Pacific Grove and Carmel. In Monterey, we'll have guided tours of museum homes from the
colonial period of Old California and Colton Hall, where California's Constitution was signed, followed by lunch at
Pacific Grove's legendary Fandango restaurant. The afternoon in Carmel will include a motorcoach tour of the
spectacular 17-mile Drive and Pebble Beach. There will be plenty of time to stroll and shop in Carmel, visit its art
galleries, and to have dinner on your own at your choice of one of Carmel's many fine restaurants before returning to
San Francisco. (B,L)
Day 6: Tuesday
We certainly cannot visit San Francisco without going to the Cable Car Museum, Fisherman's Wharf and the
intriguing Mechanical Museum, and, of course, Ghiradelli Square. Lunch on your own before we motorcoach across
the Bay to Sausalito, a quaint artists' colony, where you will have free time this afternoon to stroll along the waterfront
and to do some last minute shopping. Early Dinner in Sausalito before returning back to the Hotel to rest and pack for
your return home tomorrow. (B,D)
Day 7: RETURN HOME --Wednesday
Check out is after breakfast and then departure for the Airport. (B)
