Day 1: ARRIVAL DAY in VICTORIA - WEDNESDAY
Arrival in Victoria. Check-in at Victoria’s Magnolia Hotel and Spa located in the inner harbor area. For those arriving early in the day, you’ll have free time to explore downtown Victoria
or to take some whale watching on your own this afternoon, time permitting. This evening we will enjoy a special Welcome Dinner and Evening at Victoria's Butchart Gardens --
fifty-five acres of floral splendor at the Butchart Gardens - one of Victoria's most famous and popular attractions, begun in 1904 as an effort to restore a worked-out quarry site. We will
experience the gardens in daylight before having a lovely Dinner in their historic dining room with a special British Columbia-inspired menu. After Dinner, we’ll stroll through the
Evening Illuminations where thousands of lights in dozens of hues dramatically transform the gardens into a wonderland Fairyland landscape and the Ross Fountain literally dances
with light. (D)
Day 2: VICTORIA HERITAGE TOURING DAY - THURSDAY
After Breakfast, we’ll take a Heritage tour of Empress Hotel with costumed period guides, followed by a short walk to the Royal British Columbia Museum for a docent-guided
tour, and some time to explore the Museum. We’ll then walk one block from Museum for Lunch at Samuels By the Park in the nearby Queen Victoria Hotel. After Lunch, we’ll have a
private heritage tour of Helmcken House, the oldest house in British Columbia, guided by a Museum historian and researcher, followed by viewing the Museum's 2012 Special
Exhibition. We then continue on to Museum Heritage Building Square where our Guide will take us across the street to St. Ann’s Restored French Canadian style Chapel for a tour.
Return to Carillon by Museum for Tour Bus pickup for a guided Heritage Tour including Downtown, Chinatown, Bastion Square, the Marina Drive, Oak Bay Marina and more,
followed by “dinner with a view” at Vista 18 Restaurant at Chateau Victoria, during which we will be entertained about Victoria’s ghostly legends with our Historian Guide. Before
returning to the Hotel, we’ll take a short walking Ghost tour of some of Victoria’s most famous or infamous heritage sites. (B, L)
Day 3: VICTORIA TO VANCOUVER DAY- FRIDAY
After Breakfast, we check out of the Hotel, and meet our Resident Historian who will take us on a heritage tour of Victoria's Parliament Building. We then depart for tours of Emily
Carr House and Craigdarroch Castle built in the 1880's by Robert Dunsmuir, a Scottish immigrant who attained wealth and fame through politics and coal mining. We’ll have a brief stop
for a quick Lunch before we arrive at the Ferry for our departure for Vancouver. Our Ferry ride will include admission to the onboard Lounge, where we will enjoy the 2-hour scenic
journey. Upon our arrival in Vancouver, we’ll transfer to the Sutton Place Hotel, rest a bit before going to Dinner at a nearby restaurant. Free time after Dinner to attend the
Shakespeare Festival's Bard on the Beach performance or the Granville Island Theatre, or to visit Robson Street, the Seawall, stroll Downtown, take the Aquabus, or just relax. (B,D)
Day 4: VANCOUVER HERITAGE TOURING DAY- SATURDAY
“Breakfast with Masters” at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the historic Court House, followed by a guided sightseeing bus tour exploring Vancouver, including Stanley Park,
Totems, Inuqshuk, English Bay, First Nations Village, and Stanley Park with the Totems. Other points of interest include Prospect Point, Iron Worker’s Bridge, Downtown, the
Olympic Flame, Robson Street, and Erikson Library. We’ll then have a guided walking tour of Historic Gastown where Vancouver’s history began, and visit Gassy Jack’s Statue
and the Steam Clock. Lunch in Gastown, followed by further touring, including Yaletown and the historic CPR Steam Engine at the Roundhouse. We’ll return to the Hotel to rest and
change before we head over to the Pan Pacific Hotel for its famous Opera Buffet Dinner – an evening of spectacular scenic vistas, great food, and wonderful entertainment, all rolled into
one! (B,D)
Day 5: VANCOUVER CULTURAL TOURING DAY - SUNDAY
This morning we depart for Granville Island where we will have Breakfast at the Granville Island Dockside Restaurant. We’ll then take a insider's guided tour with a Chef to
explore the Granville Island’s famous Market. You’ll have plenty of free time to explore and shop – and even to have Lunch on your own. This afternoon, we'll continue to the St.
Roch National Historic Site where we will see St. Roch, Canada's celebrated RCMP schooner, the first vessel to travel from the Pacific to the Atlantic via the treacherous Northwest
Passage. We'll then drive through the beautiful area where the University of British Columbia Endowment Lands, with its historic buildings and breathtaking vistas. The jewel in the
crown is the stunning architectural masterpiece, the Museum of Anthropology on the Point Grey Cliffs, a spectacular building designed by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson. We'll
have a private guided tour of the Museum this afternoon, then go back to our Hotel to refesh and change clothes before we depart on a scenic Sunset Dinner Cruise around

VICTORIA, British Columbia
Considered one of the top twenty downtowns in North America, the
historic buildings, shops, streetscapes, restaurants, bars, hotels and
the Inner Harbor all contribute to a vitality which is uniquely Victoria.
The picture-perfect Inner Harbor is surrounded by many of Victoria's
beautiful character buildings and premier attractions: the stately
Empress Hotel, the BC provincial Legislative Buildings, museums and
galleries. Reader's poll rated Victoria one of the top ten cities to visit in
the world.
VANCOUVER, British Colunbia
No doubt the southwestern British Columbia wilderness impressed
Capt. George Vancouver when he sailed into the Burrard Inlet in June
1792, searching for the Northwest Passage.
Situated among the beauty of a natural setting, with vistas of green
coastal mountains and the deep blue Strait of Georgia, Vancouver is
often described as a picture postcard, and compared to San Francisco
in its eclectic charm. Settled by colourful characters, culturally
diverse, and having vegetation-friendly climatic conditions, Vancouver
is often considered unlike any other place.
